Assam Rifles to shift out of Aizawl

Aizawl, October 26: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma stated that the Assam Rifles will soon be vacating their battalion headquarter at Aizawl and shift to Zokhawsang.


Speaking to the press at the Chief Minister Conference Hall this evening, Lalduhoma said that a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for relocation of Assam Rifles to Zokhawsang was signed on October 23, 2024 @7PM at Mizoram House, New Delhi.


Lalduhoma stated that the Memorandum of Agreement will come into effect from April 1, 2025; and that construction of necessary facilities at Zokhawsang are still left to be completed.
