Shillong, May 2: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has assured of installing street lights and CCTVs in Madanriting locality of Shillong under My City Campaign, while he was addressing a programme organised by Dorbar Shnong, Madanriting.
The Chief Minister inaugurated an ambulance and a mortuary van of the Dorbar Shnong on the occasion.

“It is very heartening to see that the Dorbar Shnong has procured these important amenities for the locality that will facilitate transport the sick or injured and a safe and dignified transportation for the deceased,” he said at the programme held at St Peter’s Secondary School, Madanriting.
State Law Commission Co-Chairman Lambor Malniang and former Rajya Sabha MP Wansuk Syiem were also present.
Meritorious students, covid warriors, police personnel, sanitation workers, ASHA workers, sports achievers and senior citizens of the locality were felicitated during the programme.

Lauding the initiative by Dorbar Shnong, he said, ”The work that we do or the achievements in our life is never too small or too big but being grateful and showing appreciation can make a huge difference.”
In response to some of the concerns raised by the Dorbar Shnong in a memorandum presented to him, the Chief Minister committed to the improvement, renovation and construction of basic amenities for the Mandanriting Playground and a retaining wall for the locality community hall.
He also extended Rs 2 lakh as assistance from the Chief Minister’s Special Grant to the participating schools for their cultural and musical requirements.
