East Jaintia Hills man gets 10-year jail term in POCSO case

Shillong, Jan 19: An accused in a POCSO has been convicted and sentenced to ten years rigorous imprisonment for his involvement in sexually assaulting a minor girl in 2024.

The investigation led by WPI O Tyngkan found Pynkloide aka Deibor Phyrnge guilty, based on an FIR registered at Khliehriat police station on October 9, 2024.

The Special Judge (POCSO), East Jaintia Hills District, sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment for 3 years and a fine of ₹5,000 under POCSO Act Section 3(a)/4.

Additionally, he was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹10,000 under POCSO Act Section 4(1).
