Gajraj Corps gets new commander as Lt Gen Neeraj Shukla takes charge

Guwahati, April 2: Lieutenant General Neeraj Shukla has assumed command of the Gajraj Corps after Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh formally handed over charge on April 1, according to an official statement.

The change of command in one of the Indian Army’s key formations was marked by messages underscoring operational readiness, leadership continuity and commitment to service.

Lt Gen Gambhir Singh urged all ranks of the Gajraj Corps to continue efforts to enhance operational effectiveness and combat readiness while upholding the Indian Army’s traditions, values and ethos.

“The change of command underscores the Indian Army’s continued commitment to operational excellence, professional leadership, and steadfast service to the nation,” said in an official press release by PRO Defence Guwahati.

Lieutenant General V.M.B. Krishnan, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, congratulated Lt Gen Neeraj Shukla on assuming command of the Corps and commended Lt Gen Gambhir Singh for his leadership and contributions during his tenure.

“Lt Gen Gambhir Singh exhorted all ranks of the Gajraj Corps to continue their relentless efforts towards enhancing operational effectiveness and combat readiness,” Defence PRO stated in the official release.
