Council amendment bill scheduled for introduction on Monday
Tura, Aug 6: The voting for election of the new Deputy Chairman of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) will be held on Friday while the filing of nomination closed on Thursday.
The GHADC is also scheduled to take up the Council’s budget and GHADC Amendment Bill during the ongoing Monsoon Session, said Chief Executive Member (CEM) Dormonath Ch Sangma.
The amendment bill, which has already received the Governor’s assent, will be introduced on Monday for consideration of the House.
On Friday, the House will discuss and clear the General Budget besides holding deliberations on the GHADC Services (Conduct, Discipline and Appeal) Service Rules Bill.
The House is also expected to debate a non-official motion moved by Rongrong MDC Rinaldo K. Sangma under Rule 468, seeking discussion on alleged irregularities in the functioning of the Council.
