Governor hails Ri Bhoi for Sampoornata Abhiyaan success

Shillong, July 31: Meghalaya Governor CH Vijayashankar has praised Ri Bhoi district for completing three key tasks of Sampoornata Abhiyaan during an event to celebrate the achievements of Meghalaya.

Speaking at the event held at Durba Hall in Shillong on Thursday, the governor applauded the district for achieving the task of providing extra nutrition to pregnant women, handing out soil health cards, and timely delivery of school textbooks.

The governor also commended Amlarem, Resubelpara, and Umling blocks for saturating soil health card generation, thereby advancing sustainable agriculture and improving farmer livelihoods.

He reiterated that the mission goes beyond meeting targets but is about transforming lives, empowering communities, and ensuring that no one is left behind.

The event concluded with the Governor presenting commendations to the achievers and reaffirming Meghalaya’s dedication to advancing inclusive, sustainable, and people-centric development, in alignment with the State’s commitment to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals .

The Sampoornata Abhiyaan focused on achieving saturation in six critical key performance indicators (KPIs) under the Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks Programme, targeting the most underdeveloped regions across the country.
