Govt rolls out major reshuffle of bureaucrats

Shillong, Dec 20: The state government has effected a major reshuffle of senior bureaucrats, assigning additional portfolios and transferring key officials across various departments and districts.

According to an official notification issued on Friday, Dr BDR Tiwari, Chief Electoral Officer and Commissioner & Secretary (Election Department), will also function as Commissioner & Secretary, Border Areas Development Department.

Dr Pooja Pandey, returning from central deputation on 31 December 2025, has been posted as Commissioner & Secretary, Home (Police) and Home (Political) Departments.

Garod LSN Dykes, currently Deputy Commissioner of West Khasi Hills, has been transferred to the same Home (Police) and Home (Political) Departments as Secretary.

Isawanda Laloo, Secretary, Sports & Youth Affairs Department, will concurrently serve as Secretary, Personnel & AR Department.

Shivansh Awasthi, Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills, will move as Joint Secretary, Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

Hema Nayak, Deputy Commissioner, South West Garo Hills, has been reassigned as Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills.

Saloni Verma, Deputy Secretary, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, will also act as Deputy Secretary, Urban Affairs Department, and Chief Executive Officer, Shillong Smart City Ltd..

Richa Kulkarni, previously Sub‑Divisional Officer (Sadar), West Garo Hills, has been posted as Sub‑Divisional Officer (Civil), Dadenggre Civil Sub‑Division.

Vevotolu Kezo, IAS (RR 2023), formerly Sub‑Divisional Officer (Sadar), West Jaintia Hills, has been transferred as Sub‑Divisional Officer (Civil), Amlarem Civil Sub‑Division.
