Nominated to the JAC as a Special Invitee, Sangma has written to the JAC Chairman and Lok Sabha MP Dr Sanjay Jaiswal in this regard.

“I have personally written to the chairman of the committee that it would be nice and convenient if the committee were to come to Shillong and meet stakeholders here, so that we can make it convenient for stakeholders to come and meet the members of the committee,” Sangma said on Friday.

He also said the committee is on track to submit its report before the end of the winter session of Parliament.

“We had meetings of the FCRA recently and I am not at liberty to divulge details of what transpired in those meetings, but the committee is meeting stakeholders, is meeting many departments. I think the mandate is to complete everything and to submit it before the end of the winter session,” he said.
