Krishi Mela held at Liarkhla, Ri-Bhoi

Shillong, Dec 21: An Indigenous Farmers’ Market-cum-Krishi Mela was organised by the Hill Farmers Union, Raid Iapngar Circle in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ri-Bhoi, at Liarkhla in Ri-Bhoi district on Friday.

The programme also sought to encourage farmers through knowledge exchange, market exposure, and recognition of excellence in the agriculture and allied sectors.

Umroi MDC Isyeni Hinge and KVK Ri-Bhoi head Dr Mokidul Islam attended the occasion.

Competitions were organised on the themes of agriculture and allied sectors, including animal husbandry and fisheries, to encourage innovation and participation among farmers.
