Lahiri takes charge as VIce Chairman of NITI Aayog

New Delhi, May 8: Renowned economist Ashok Kumar Lahiri on Friday took charge as Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog.

Lahiri replaced Suman Bery.

Lahiri is a former chief economic advisor to the government of India and a member of the 15th Finance Commission.

“His experience across academia, public institutions and international organisations will further strengthen NITI Aayog’s efforts towards evidence-based policymaking and economic transformation,” NITI Aayog said in a social media post on X.

NITI Aayog looks forward to his contributions in advancing India’s development agenda and supporting strategic policy initiatives across sectors, it added. (PTI)
