Meeting on bank performances to govt schemes held in Baghmara

Baghmara, Nov 28: The District Consultative Committee meeting cum quarterly review, primarily on implementation of government projects, was held at Baghmara Circuit House by Additional Deputy Commissioner South Garo Hills District Shelley Ch Momin on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by the BDO Baghmara Weena Y Momin,  LDO RBI Shillong Anil Kumar Reshi,  Chandra Mushahary LDM, South Garo Hills District,  Chongtham DDM NABARD , representatives from different banks and line Departments within the South Garo Hills District. 

The meeting reviewed bank performances in implementing government schemes and loans and also discussed various other bank related issues like currency management and  credit linkage under various government schemes. Suggestions for existing problems were also been taken up.

It was raised during the meeting that many of the beneficiaries from Agriculture, Fisheries, MRLS and others are having issues with the SBI bank and it has been found that there has been a  coordination issue between the banks and other line Departments which needs to be resolved amicably. The meeting also sought for organizing frequent financial literacy camps within South Garo Hills District .The Chairman also asked the banks and line Departments to promote and create awareness regarding various government schemes and other financial assistance.
