As we work towards our vision for Meghalaya in 2032, platforms such as these provide valuable opportunities to learn from other States, engage with experts and explore new approaches to financing development.
– Conrad K Sangma, Chief Minister
Shillong, Sept 19: The economic roadmap of Meghalaya has drawn national limelight as Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma took part in the “Financing India’s Journey towards Viksit Bharat” conference along with top finance heads at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The conclave’s thrust areas directly align with Meghalaya’s growth trajectory, according to the Chief Minister.
“Discussions on strengthening public finances, innovative financing, agriculture, energy transition, technology and measuring growth through GSDP were particularly relevant to Meghalaya’s own economic journey,” he posted on X.

Drawing a parallel between the national dialogue and Meghalaya’s own blueprint, the Chief Minister asserted that Meghalaya is moving with a focused plan under Mission 10.
“Through Mission 10, Meghalaya is pursuing a focused transformation agenda across key sectors, with an emphasis on creating opportunities, strengthening infrastructure, supporting livelihoods and enterprises, and building a more resilient and sustainable economy,” Sangma said.
He said the conclave offers crucial learnings as Meghalaya charts its course to 2032.
“As we work towards our vision for Meghalaya in 2032, platforms such as these provide valuable opportunities to learn from other States, engage with experts and explore new approaches to financing development,” he added.
Thanking Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the deliberations, Sangma said, “Grateful to Hon’ble Union Finance Minister Smt. @nsitharaman ji and all the distinguished speakers and participants for the insightful deliberations.”
