Tura, Jan 5: Popular Garo singer Bobby Moore K Marak, who was a co-founder of Eye to Eye band, has passed away after a prolonged illness, leaving a void in cultural and musical landscape of Garo Hills.
Besides his musical achievements, Marak also served as an Inspector in Meghalaya Police.
He was widely admired for his soulful voice and memorable compositions, especially the iconic songs “A·ai, A·ai” and “Chanchinabe An·tangko Silbata Ine”. These songs touched the hearts of many and continue to hold a special place among music lovers in the region.

He was laid to rest at the Tura Baptist Cemetery in Rongkhon Songgital,Tura with a Guard of Honour by Tura District Executive Force.
The funeral ceremony was attended among others by Assembly Speaker Thomas A. Sangma, Tura SP Abraham T Sangma, and Tura SP (Fire and Emergency Services) Bruno A Sangma.
Family members, friends, fellow artists, and a large number of fans gathered to pay their final respects to the departed soul.
Bobby Moore K Marak will be remembered not only for his service to the state but also for his immense contribution to Garo music, which will continue to inspire generations to come.
