President to visit state on Jan 9-10

Shillong, Jan 7: President Droupadi Murmu will be on a two-day visit to the state to inaugurate the golden jubilee celebration of ICAR Research Complex at Umiam and Farmer’s Expo 2025 on January 9 and 10 respectively.

“This will happen between 11.30am and 2.30 pm. She (President) will be landing in Umroi and will have a function in the ICAR complex. She will not be travelling to Shillong city. After the function, she will go back to Guwahati and proceed onward,” chief secretary DP Wahlang said on Tuesday.

Union Minister for Rural Development, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will also attend the function.
