Raj Bhavan gets 3-Hole Golf Course

Shillong, Nov 27: Governor C H Vijayashankar inaugurated the newly constructed 3-Hole Golf Course in the premises of Raj Bhavan on Wednesday to promote the game and enhance cultural and recreational landscape of the region.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor highlighted the importance of preserving the natural beauty of Meghalaya while promoting eco-friendly recreational activities. 

He emphasized that the 3-Hole Golf Course not only adds value to Raj Bhavan as a heritage site but also underscores the commitment to sustainability and environmental harmony.

The golf course has been meticulously designed to blend with the lush greenery and serene surroundings of Raj Bhavan and offers a unique opportunity for golfers to enjoy the sport in an environment that celebrates Meghalaya’s pristine natural heritage.

A ceremonial tee-off by the Governor marked the official inauguration, followed by an exhibition game where senior officials, distinguished guests, and members of the golfing community participated. 

The Governor expressed hope that the golf course would serve as an inspiration for fostering interest in the sport among youth and enthusiasts, further enhancing Meghalaya’s reputation as a destination for sports and tourism.
