Smart City projects to be completed by 2026: Dhar

Shillong, Sept 18: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Urban Affairs Sniawbhalang Dhar has informed that most of the Smart City projects are nearing completion and all projects are expected to be finished by the end of 2026.

Dhar mentioned that there are over 150 projects underway, with significant progress already achieved.

As of July this year, the Smart City projects have achieved an overall physical completion of 77.81%.

Regarding the regional committee related to the border dispute, Dhar stated that the committee composition will remain the same for Jaintia Hills and Ri-Bhoi districts.

However, for West Khasi Hills, the chairman will be re-examined due to the change of cabinet minister.

The state government is awaiting a response from their counterparts, who are currently busy with elections, he added.

On the relocation of the Harijan colony from Them Iew Mawlong, Dhar assured that the government is actively working on the issue and aims to resolve it as soon as possible.
