Swachhata run on Oct 2

Shillong, Sept 29: As part of the Gandhi Jayanti Day celebration and to mark Swachhata Hi Seva, Raj Bhavan in collaboration with the Central Bureau of Communication, Shillong and the Office of the District Sports Officer, East Khasi Hills, will be organising the “Swachhata 5.5K Run” on October 2. 

The Swachhata Run will start from Raj Bhavan, Shillong at 7 am and will be flagged off by Governor CH Vijayashankar. The route will start from St. Anthony’s College, Shillong College, St. Mary’s College, Don Bosco Square, Laitumkhrah Market, Fire Brigade, St. Edmund’s School, Malki Point, Barik Point, Civil Hospital, Main Secretariat, DC Office and will end at Raj Bhavan, Shillong. 

Prizes for the open category men and women have been kept as 1st Prize Rs 5,000, 2nd Prize Rs 3,000 and 3rd Prize Rs 2,000. There is also a consolation prize of Rs 1000 each for 4th to 8th positions and Rs 1000 for men and women above 50 years (1st to 5th position)

The registration can be done on the site from 6 am to 6:45 am on October 2. The link for the online registration is https://bit.ly/3Y3wqhv. Chest numbers will be distributed on the same day from 6 am to 6:45 am at the starting point. Participants will be provided with free Swachhata T-shirts and light refreshments.
