Shillong, Feb 24: Two persons have been arrested for possessing 204 grams of suspected heroin at Umkiang Out Post in East Jaintia Hills on Sunday, police said on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police Pankaj Rasgania said the vehicle (AS 11 R 1523) was stopped at 11:30 pm during naka checking. “Seventeen soap boxes containing suspected heroin were recovered,” he said.
The occupants of the Alto K10, Suhal Ahmed (20) of Tarapur, Kalain and Aktar Hussain (37) of Kali Nagar, Shiv Narainpur, both in Assam’s Cachar district were arrested by the East Jaintia Hills police.
