Resubelpara, Jan 27: Mendipathar MLA, Marthon J Sangma on Tuesday inaugurated the Dome Anti Urban Health & Wellness Centre in North Garo Hills, formally dedicating the health facility to the residents of Dome Anti and nearby villages.
“The inauguration of the Urban Health & Wellness Centre fulfills a long-standing aspiration of the people by ensuring that basic health services are now available at their proximity,” Sangma said while addressing the gathering.
He urged the community to make full use of the Centre, particularly expecting mothers, adding that access to timely maternal care was essential for ensuring healthy pregnancies and safe deliveries.
Speaking at the programme, Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Saini, called upon the village president and secretary to mobilise women and families to utilise the centre for safe institutional deliveries, with the shared goal of achieving Zero Maternal Mortality Rate and Zero Infant Mortality Rate in the area.
In her remarks, District Immunization Officer, Dr Rezia K Sangma, informed that the newly inaugurated centre will cater not only to Dome Anti but also to three adjoining villages, thereby providing communities with essential healthcare services at the primary level.
She added that a poly clinic will be organised once every month, where specialist doctors will visit to ensure regular monitoring of the health of mothers and children.
