4 put behind bars for illegal entry into India

Tura, Sep 7: Four persons, accused in two separate cases, have been convicted for illegally entering the country and sentenced to imprisonment by the sessions court in South Garo Hills district.

In the first case registered by Gasuapara police station, three accused – Nazir Miah, Shuyal Miah, and Faysal Miah – were sentenced to two years of imprisonment and fined Rs 20,000 under provisions of the Foreigners Act.

The court also sentenced the other accused Hafikul Islam in a case registered at Baghmara police station to two years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000.
