Shillong, Jan 30: ASHA workers have called off their indefinite strike following the clearance of pending incentives to them, Health Minister Wailadmiki Shylla said on Friday.
Announcing release of the payment to over 7,000 ASHA workers, the minister said, “We have already cleared the pending incentives for ASHA workers.”
He added that the workers have called off their indefinite strike, saying, “As per my knowledge, the ASHA workers have already called off their indefinite strike”.
Asked, the minister said, “(However), there are some issues pending not from the department but from them. They do realise that and (that’s why) they have called off the strike.”
Report on 108 service
Meanwhile, Shylla informed that the government is awaiting a report from consultants on the best way to run the 108 emergency services in Meghalaya.
The consultants were hired to study the issue and suggest ways as to how to run the 108 emergency services.
“We are waiting for that report,” Shylla said.
Asked about alleged pending dues to employees, the minister said, “For that, I have not received any files… definitely we will look into it”.
