Shillong, Nov 3: With a few months left for Meghalaya to host the 39th National Games, a team of Games Technical Conduct Committee (GTCC) is conducting review of the facilities created for the mega event in the state.
On a four-day visit, the GTCC team on Tuesday inspected the main venues in Shillong, covering athletics at JN Sports Complex, basketball at Integrated Multipurpose Indoor Hall, football at Shillong Sports Association ground, golf at Shillong Golf Club, rugby, fencing and boxing at Sports Authority of India centre, and mountain bike cycling at NEHU Campus.
On Wednesday, the team will examine technical systems and carry out inspection at more venues in Shillong and Jowai.
Let by its Chairperson Sunaina Kumari, the GTCC on Monday reviewed the Games preparation at State Guest House in Taraghar where officials from the Sports and Youth Affairs department laid out its preparedness plan before the committee.
Meghalaya State Olympic Association Working President John F Kharshiing, Vice President Matsiewdor War Nongbri, and General Secretary Finely L Pariat were also part of the discussions.
The GTCC then turned its attention beyond Meghalaya, holding an online interaction with North Eastern Region states that will host events, before taking up ACT and operational readiness, the backbone of Games-time delivery.
