Shillong, Sept 13: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma paid tributes to former Chief Minister DD Lapang on his first death anniversary, terming him as a “guiding light for Meghalaya”.
In his social media post on Friday, the Chief Minister said Lapang was revered as the architect of Ri-Bhoi district and was a true people’s leader and father figure.
“Respectful tribute to former Hon’ble Chief Minister, (L) Dr. D.D. Lapang on his 1st Death Anniversary. Revered as the Architect of Ri Bhoi District, Maheh Lapang was a true people’s leader, a father figure and a guiding light for Meghalaya,” Sangma wrote.
Sangma further said that Lapang’s vision for the people of Meghalaya will always be cherished and that his wisdom will continue to guide the state.
“You will always be remembered, Maheh,” he added.
