MLCU bags multiple awards at Student Conclave India 2025

Shillong, Oct 13: The Department of Tourism and Travel Management, Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU), Shillong, has achieved outstanding success at the 5th Edition of the Student Conclave India 2025, held at the Goa Business School, Goa University on October 10 & 11.

The Student Conclave India is a vibrant and inclusive platform that bridges the gap between academia and industry in the fields of tourism, hospitality, aviation, event management, and related disciplines.

Representing MLCU, students from the Department of Tourism and Travel Management distinguished themselves by securing top positions in multiple categories. Their achievements include:

First Prize for Best Sustainable Tourism Case Study – “Community-Based Tourism in Umden-Diwon Village, Ri Bhoi District, Meghalaya,” by Final Phawa and Dalumlin Khongji.

First Prize for Best Campus North East- Presentation led by Final Phawa, with team members Rokuoneizo Nagi, Kenneth O. Shangliang, Larishadonna Lyngdoh, Gideon Wanjop Synnah, and Dury Reca Marbaniang.

First Prize for Best Event Logistics Management – by Irene Dkhar and Leleno Yhoshü.

The conclave was organized by DTORR in collaboration with UN Tourism and promotes exploration, innovation, and the exchange of best practices among students and professionals.

Through engaging discussions, interactive sessions, and hands-on experiences, the event provides participants with valuable insights into industry trends, fosters collaboration, and supports their professional development within India’s dynamic tourism and hospitality sectors.
