Tura, July 21: Coming close on the heels of last week’s gruesome murder of a teenage girl by her jilted lover in Williamnagar, another incident of stabbing was reported from the plains of Selsella in West Garo Hills.
A 21 year old Abhijit Hajong of Dolguri village attempted to murder a 16 year old Nomon Hajong from the same village on Sunday morning.
The accused attacked the man around 11 AM stabbing the victim on his chest and abdomen outside the Dolguri Durga Puja mandir in Selsella.
The grievously injured youth had to be shifted to Tura Civil Hospital while the accused has been arrested. The attacker is reported to be having a mental illnesss and was under medication.
