Shillong, Sept 25: The Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS) on Wednesday signed an MoU with Bandhan Konnagar with an objective of empowering ultra-poor women-headed households in Meghalaya.
The partnership will focus on uplifting economically vulnerable women in the state by providing them with essential skills and resources needed to achieve financial independence, stated an official release.
The collaboration will leverage the expertise of Bandhan Konnagar’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Bandhan.
The MoU outlines several critical initiatives to improve the socio-economic status of ultra-poor women-headed households. These include skill development programs, financial literacy training, and access to microfinance.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Ronendra Chowdhury, Program Director, Bandhan Bank; Saumen Paul, Program Officer, Bandhan Bank; Mr. Ronald Kynta, Chief Operating Officer of MSRLS, and Banri Khongjee, Project Manager at RSETI.
